today's outside stuff
Pulled some weeds, soaked Trinity (new birch), knocked the nest out of the eaves of the bedroom deck*, swept the downstairs deck.
jw1776 was a sweetie and mowed the yard.
Time: 30 minutes
*We have a deck in the backyard off the TV room downstairs. We also have a smaller deck off the master bedroom, directly over the downstairs deck. I don't know if the previous owners used the smaller deck much; for us it mostly provides shade for the main deck.
Recently some robins have decided the 4x6 supporting the back of the upper deck would be a TERRIFIC place to build some nests. We respectfully disagree.
jw1776 has knocked them down several times. The birds rebuild. Today I knocked them down, then took the nest material to the yard waste bin. Jesse told me that an hour or so later a robin landed where the nest had been, looked around for the nests ("I know I left it right HERE!") flew to a nearby branch, and sat there bitching for quite a while.
Apparently the monkeys aren't doing it right. :)
