filkertom is in hospital with a cast on his left leg from hip to toes. X-rays showed no broken bones, but possible torn ligaments (ACL/MCL) or quadriceps muscle.
He will probably not make 2 or 3 cons because of this. Tom supports himself with his music - yes, with filk music - so this is a serious problem. A friend will be taking CDs to some of the cons, but it's the concerts that tend to bring in sales.
However, there are over a dozen downloads for sale on his site, along with a "virtual guitar case".
In the past years I've slacked off on a lot of giving to traditional charities. Mostly I've been supporting independent musicians. I just kicked some PayPal into Tom's virtual guitar case.
There are CDs for order on his site too - but I don't expect he will be mailing them anytime soon...!
