Today hasn't been the brightest day on record, nor yesterday. Don't get me wrong, things are generally okay in my life & I've gotten things done both days. But one of the beauties of counseling is that you end up reliving your earlier life as well as the living the current life; and parts that need revisiting are often the parts you've specifically avoided because they suck. Why revisit, then? Well, I'm trying to disassemble some of the habits I have that were built in those times and revisiting can help me implement the deconstruction.

What has gone right:

DH & I visited his Grandpa Mac, who is looking in good color and making everyone laugh a lot from his hospital bed.

The doctors understand the problem and are working to improve Grandpa Mac's health.

The state LP office is set up now, and DH's enjoying volunteering there.

I was able to veg out after counseling yesterday, which I needed. (Given that the session was over 3 hours long and hit on my grandparents' deaths and my folks and an old abusive relationship...)

Between last night and today I re-read Gaudy Night

DH & I went shopping this afternoon. He got some nice polo shirts and a pair of business-casual style pants that should be altered tomorrow; I got a red skirt and a black top.

I've made some progress on cleaning up our bedroom today - the comforter cover is drying as I type this, I've been putting away and dusting, and now I'm going to dust the floor.

Norwescon is only two days away...

I'm eating a wonderful tasting orange. Juicy, sweet, and just enough tartness.

I'm beginning to think that life is actually good :)
