I've been listening to this song a lot today. Perhaps even A Lot. I even transcribed what I could of the lyrics.

Pirate Bill & Squidley came jumping from the sky
Said Pirate Bill to Squidley it's a damn fine day to die
For the sun is up the sky is clear there's no cloudbank to be found
Oh they say the sky's the limit but we both know it's the ground

Mountains capped in snow-white hats and skies of azure blue
A 120 miles and hour's just fine for me & you
There's always chance of failure but we make that choice to fall
For how can you leap into your life if you never jump at all?

No limits and no fear
Better check out all your gear
Got safety on a ribbon and you'll find
With your sneakers on a cloud,
No whiners are allowed
And the only limit in this world is the one within your mind

With Pirate Bill & Squidley, oh they took me out to play
Said Pirate Bill & Squidley, "You will learn to live today."
"Just arch your back and spread your arms while the wind screams in your ears.
And when have you finally touched the ground you'll turn back twenty years!"

With Pirate Bill & Squidley I'm at fifteen thousand feet
Said Pirate Bill & Squidley, "On the ground now we will meet.
Oh you've come this far, claim who you are, there's no time left now to hedge."
And holding to those words alone I stepped right off the edge!

No limits and no fear
Better check out all your gear
Got safety on a ribbon and you'll find
With your sneakers on a cloud,
No whiners are allowed
And the only limit in this world is the one within your mind
Spinning and falling your destiny calling you don't think of death cause you can't get your breath you're moving so fast but you want it to last and you're only just starting to let out a smile the world spins around and you stare at the ground and it's so far away and you just want to stay the air in the air a bit more this is what life is for and the chute opens up and you STOP
Pirate Bill & Squidley came floating through the sky
Said Pirate Bill & Squidley, "Now you know how it's to fly.
For your heart is quick your breath is short your eyes are filled with pools
And you life could be just like this if you follow these few rules:"

No limits and no fear
Better check out all your gear
Got safety on a ribbon and you'll find
With your sneakers on a cloud,
No whiners are allowed
And the only limit in this world is the one within your mind

Yes, I think about Heather's birthday tandem jump, complete with 60 seconds of free-fall. It's what the song is about, after all ;) I also think of a former coworker who quit Microsoft so that he could jump out of airplanes more frequently. And I think of the leap of faith that prompted me to leave Microsoft myself...and other leaps I've taken since then.

I think of how I first transcribed "No whiners are allowed" as "No whiners are aloud". They're nearly identical, when you think about it. Except that the first applies to the whiner his/herself; the second only spares everyone else.

I also think of the last line: "the only limit in this world is the one within your mind". Compare that to her LotR song, "The Golden Ring". We all carry darkness inside ourselves, and what keeps us from acting on it? Us. Only us. Scary.
