From the New York Times:
The researchers found that boys with high self-esteem were 2.4 times as likely to say they had had sex as the boys with low-self esteem. But girls with high self-esteem were three times as likely to report being virgins as the girls with low self-esteem.

The researchers said they could not be sure what the results meant, though they suggested that the study offered evidence that the double standard among girls and boys remained strong when it came to sex. But the rest of Tuesday went pretty good. Counseling session was challenging & helpful. Afterward I hung out with a friend before meeting Jay & John for dinner. Chinese food, yum. I got the leftoevers, yum.

I've mentioned John before, I think, but not Jay. I met Jay over email in latish 1990, in real life in 1991. I moved into testing about the time he became a test lead, and shortly thereafter began working for him. He's always been level-headed, balanced, capable of juggling an amazing amount of tasks, and focused. Now he's expecting his firstborn within a month or so, remodeling the house, working with the Dems & various charities, and he's a general manager - still at msft. I wish I knew how he does it.

Btw: Didja notice that Jay's web design style seems to be "why use plain html when something slower will do?" :)
