Last night I was venting to [livejournal.com profile] jw1776 about how off-balance & emotional I get with various folks in the homeowner's association. I don't mind dealing with the budget or solving problems. I enjoy that. It's the people attacking me - usually for things that I didn't cause - that I hate. We've got several members who are great at moving into this purplish, veiny, angry place, and instead of laughing at their funny faces I get anxious & eager to please.

Like the button says, I'm going nucking futs.

Today in Tai Chi we were practicing a move where we fall back, then push forward. The trick to the roll back is that the feet stay grounded, the hips move back, and the torso continues moving (slowly) forward. The idea is that if someone is pushing into you, you don't inherit their momentum or get pushed off balance. You absorb it into your forward motion.

*That's* what I want to do with these people. Instead of getting anxious, I want to get out of their way, look the situation over, and continue my forward motion - without getting knocked off balance. :)

Meanwhile, we went to the msft company store today to get [livejournal.com profile] jw1776 a copy of Dungeon Siege. I don't think he'll be leaving the computer all night....
