[livejournal.com profile] jw1776 woke me about 10 this morning to tell me that Crossroads had tickets for the 11:59 showing of The Two Towers, and did I have any plans for midnight to 3am or so?

So we went. He wore his tabard, I wore a worn-looking black dress, teal cloak, and black boots. A few folks gave us five as we walked in.

Good movie. I haven't read Two Towers yet, but I probably will over the next few weeks. Hey, I actually got through Fellowship after seeing the first movie. I looked at a copy of Two Towers a month or so ago and was seriously yawning before the end of the first chapter. (Previous to seeing the movies, the most I'd gotten through JRRT was about 8 pages of The Hobbit. That's the most - and some of my tries only made it through 2 pages of The Hobbit. These books are not exactly Friday, Double Star, or Guilty Pleasures when it comes to grabbing one's attention early. Okay, JRRT fans can kill me now; I ask only that Sue be first in line.)

[livejournal.com profile] jw1776 says his brain is fried - mental exhaustion. I'm kinda wired myself, and I'm brewing a pot of chamomile to help me relax. A hot bath may follow, but I hope I won't need it.

Also had a good time at Third Place tonight. It's the last time for a few weeks - next week (Xmas Eve) Third Place closes at 6pm. Week after (New Year's Eve) they also close at 6pm.

Interesting info, especially the notes that the vaccine is effective even if administered days after exposure & that smallpox isn't as contagious as flu. Saved for future reference.
