Mar. 31st, 2003 01:34 amThere is a cat on the deck who definitely wants *inside*. He's pawing on the sliding glass door.
There is a cat inside who's watching this, transfixed. I can see her fur slightly vibrating as she watches and waits.
She's jumped off the couch, stalked to the door, and is watching him through the glass. He, meanwhile, only has eyes for me. I can hear the rain dripping from the trees. He stood on his hind legs, front paws on the glass, looking at me.
He has begun grooming. She watches. It's dark outside. How much can she see?
She has gone to her bathroom, home of her litterbox, food, and water dish. The clatter of kibble on vinyl flooring tells me she's eating. (Of course she doesn't just eat from the dish. She's a Maine Coon of Betsy's: she's *particular*. She picks food up from the dish, drops it to the floor, and then eats it.)
(If you've seen Betsy's house you'll understand.)
