Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Three billion years ago, the Earth's original single-cell organisms thrived in a carbon dioxide-rich atmosphere. As a byproduct of their metabolism, however, they released an abundant amount of oxygen. It was a pollutant that ultimately made their environment uninhabitable for them, though it prepared the way for the oxygen-breathers that now dominate the planet. Now let's meditate on how this might be a useful metaphor for you, Taurus. Is there any "pollutant" produced by the person you were in the past that could be valuable for the person you will become in the future?

Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] computerchix and (belated) to [livejournal.com profile] gaaneden!

...not unknown. I make an effort to keep [livejournal.com profile] dailyoffice updated, and fall behind here.

Today: laundry, dishes, breakfast, LJ, church, walk, home again. Catch up with Jesse, hang out with [livejournal.com profile] runnerwolf, [livejournal.com profile] sar_anon, [livejournal.com profile] damiana_swan, make dinner, play Tropico. No html, which means I need to get with it tomorrow.

I did walk longer than usual, about 1.25 mi, instead of one or almost one. But it's easier when I walk after church. Walking along 10th Ave and Broadway is nicely flat. And b, my usual goal is Starbuck's. Sometimes I just get something to drink and head right back to the car, but today I was happy to sip coffee, read a newspaper, let my coat dry out a bit and thaw my bottom half!

One of these days I should change my goal to Bailey/Coy. The extra distance would do me good, but it'd take me even longer to get out of Bailey/Coy than Starbuck's. I just wish there was a Starbuck's on Education Hill that was, oh, a mile away. (And no, Bella Bottega does not suit my purposes.)

Ann said something during the sermon that stuck with me - that psalm 103 is a great psalm for when you don't feel like praying or when God just doesn't seem worth it. It starts by addressing the soul - "my soul", when reading aloud - and goes on to discuss God's benefits. It's nice that Ann isn't afraid to say that she sometimes has spiritually dry patches, same as anyone else.
