Huh. I would put myself a bit closer to the middle of the spiritual-scientific mode, but the questions are a bit binary. (Too binary for my taste, actually...the evolution question needs a "yes" answer to go with the "created" and "evolved". So does the "would you rather work in the Arts or Technology" question. Exactly how do you separate the art from the craft?) Read more... ) I re-took it with a few changes... hm.

Buddhism

Your ideals mostly resemble those of the Buddhist faith. Spirituality is the most important thing in your life. You strive to live by all of your ideals, and live a very intellectually focused life.

First place I went to after I heard this was Snopes.Com. But no. This is apparently real.

From Reuters:
HOUSTON (Reuters) - An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday and bail set at $10,000 for former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay ahead of his first appearance in court on money laundering and conspiracy charges.

The warrant ordered by state District Judge Bob Perkins in Austin, Texas, called upon any Texas law enforcement officer to arrest DeLay, but he was expected to turn himself in voluntarily.

The issuance of the warrant, said Travis County Grand Jury Clerk Linda Estrada, was a "purely procedural event" but would require that DeLay surrender to authorities and be fingerprinted and photographed like anyone under felony indictment in Texas.
And the Associated Press:
Two grand juries have charged DeLay and two political associates in an alleged scheme to violate [Texas] state election law, by funneling corporate donations to candidates for the Texas Legislature. State law prohibits use of corporate donations to finance state campaigns, although the money can be used for administrative expenses.
Altho, considering that several grand juries did not indict DeLay, there is no guarantee that he'll be found guilty of anything.

Resilient people do not let adversity define them. They find resilience by moving towards a goal beyond themselves, transcending pain and grief by perceiving bad times as a temporary state of affairs.

[One way to foster resilience ] is to maintain independence. Survivors draw boundaries between themselves and troubled parents; they keep their emotional distance while satisfying the demands of conscience. Resilient children often hang out with families of untroubled peers. As adults, the resilient children of alcoholics marry into stable, loving families with whom they spend a great deal of time.

Survivors cultivate insight, the mental habit of asking themselves penetrating questions and giving honest answers. They also take the initiative. They take charge of problems, stretching and testing themselves. ... )

Reframing is at the heart of resilience. It is a way of shifting focus from the cup half empty to the cup half full.
