2 pairs of leather gloves
1 roll of landscape fabric
22 bags of "decorative rock": red lava rock, white marble chips, and "pea pebbles"

Result:
Courtyard by the front door is a rock garden.
Raised bed (aka "the mound") in the front yard has more desired plants than weeds.
Bonus the first: Small dandelion garden between driveway and mailboxes has been turned over and planted with mint to keep the dandelions in check. :)
Bonus the second: Cheeks feel a bit stingy from the sun, but no real sunburn.
