I remember chatting with my German teacher in high school about Shakespeare. One thing he said stuck with me: "People read Shakespeare and say 'Shakespeare writes in cliches!' And yes, it's full of cliches. But they weren't cliches when he wrote them."
It is a cliche that fear is a great motivator. It's also true.
It is a cliche that one most hates in others what one hates in one's self. This month seems to be hammering into me that yes, people dropping hints instead of being direct drives me crazy...and yet the last thing I think of is to be direct myself.
