The reason I got cable after a year of not having it. First ep I saw was the end of "Lie To Me"...talk about society in a nutshell.
empathy:
I've been told that I have way too much for my own good. It's something I'm getting better at dealing with in a sane way - aka, NOT taking someone else's temperature to see how I'm feeling.
gardening:
Despite my recent apathy, I do like gardening. Actually it isn't so much apathy as being overwhelmed. Gardening on an 10x12 deck is fun. Gardening in a 70s-style suburban lot is huge.

What can I say? I loved Encyclopedia Brown as a kid, I like mysteries now. I like the fun ones, silly ones, puzzle-like ones, and especially the ones with real characters acting in believable ways. I like Lawrence Block's Burglar books and Eight Million Ways To Die. I like Dorothy Sayers and Compromising Positions. I've also started writing a few....

I discovered Parker through Spenser: For Hire. The books are better. In particular, they got me to think about right and wrong and what sort of person I wanted to be.

Born in Seattle, have always lived in the area. I could see myself living elsewhere (especially New York) but Seattle is home.

"I was born in the site of water, and that's where I feel my best." I learned to swim in Green Lake, Haller Lake, & Lake Washington. I learned to respect the ocean playing in the waves on the Washington coast while visiting my grandparents in La Push. These days I mostly swim at the Longhouse and mentally debate a soaking tub vs a hot tub. :)
