Hm... apparently the unnamed person who defaced St Mark's is upset that St Mark's welcomes gays, and yet they couldn't skip a racist remark. This reminds me of Deb Price's observation of that her hate mail includes racist and misogynistic rants as well as homophobia. Once they start spewing they can't stop....

Of course, I guess I am assuming the person knows St Mark's is a mostly-white church. If whoever-it-is is motivated by Dean Taylor being gay, I could see how someone might assume a friend and protege of of Desmond Tutu "should" be black. He doesn't look it (photo) but that doesn't mean the vandal knows or cares. Heck, I haven't seen the graffiti, maybe the vandal assumed Taylor and Tutu are lovers!
