tax epilogue

Today was the recheck-with-a-fresh-mind. I also made use of an online version of TurboTax, which had pros & cons. On the plus side, it reminded me of another $500 in deductions, a couple credits that reduced our tax by $240, and to do the special-calculating-of-tax-with-qualified-dividends, which reduced the total tax by another $100 or so.
Minuses? It seemed to have problems calculating the "wash sale" stuff when sales from one mutual fund was too close together (at least, it was getting wildly different numbers from Vanguard, and I've used Vanguard's numbers in the past with no problems). I ended up "lying" to TT - just gave it the adjusted-for-wash-sale cost basis in the first place. But the big problem was that trying to print caused it to ... die. All my info was still there, but I kinda need to print. I ran the error on their tech support page, tried the workaround they gave, and ... it died. Um. So I still wrote it all out by hand. Sigh.
The Bottom Line: We owe $1.
