jenkaka, the new Heather Alexander album. Heather's work is almost a collaboration with Steven Barnes' novel Lion's Blood - the music is based in Steven's alternative world, and the novel includes lyrics from several of the songs. The music is Celtic/Irish with a Moorish flair.
Some of the songs don't click with me - Fire on the Sea, for example. But the price of the CD was easily worth New Northwest alone, not to mention Gruagach!, We Are Bound, Laddie Are You Workin', or Fresh Hops & Hemp. I just wish I could identify the pug's contribution to Gruagach!.
