Much of "Christian" music is simply bad art - retreads of pop top 40 focused on a single overdone theme, salvation. Amy Grant, who most non-Christian-music-initiates think of when the topic comes up, got a lot of bad press among conservatives for her lack of "salvation message" in her early work. (Of course, now that she's 'sold out', released some albums on mainstream labels, and gotten divorced, they don't bother...they KNOW she's flat-out Going to Hell.)
But. Some stuff is damn good. Like, say, The Painter. Wonder what Chris would think of the guitar work?
I may have been listening to the stuff loaded on my computer too much. There's a lot of albums I don't listen to simply because they're not on the computer...which is why I'm sitting in the library, loading CDs onto the laptop ;)
In other "oh wow, forgot how good this is" moments recently:
Happy Anniversary, Charlie Brown!
Watermark
Rumble Doll
Way To My Heart
