"Why must we be so blind and not see
That the light is free?"
       - from "Jesus Loves Me", 2nd Chapter of Acts.
No requirement to kiss Pat Buchanan's ass. No requirement to vote Republican, act straight, or harass non-Christians. Nada.
"All they know is war & killin'
Never taking time to read in the real book of life"
       - from "Good News", 2nd Chapter of Acts.
I picked this one line out and thought how it definitely applies to the Let's-Take-Over-The-Middle-East fundies. In the context of the song it's about non-Christians. Not sure there's exactly a difference...yes, I'm trashing people for their beliefs. Why? Because their beliefs offend me, okay? More than offend me; these type of people say I can't be of the religion that I think I am. Damn right I find that offensive.
On the other hand, why should I care what they think? Don't I have better things to do with my time than sit around feeling pissed at people who'd probably be much happier in a theocracy? One run by their particular brand of Christianity, that is, and which will never have that little 'power corrupts' problem that the Roman Church ran into when it was basically running Europe. And wiping out all other religions by killing their believers. Right.
I started writing this an hour ago; bouncing between the links I put in here and Word I've written several pages. Time to shower.
