***KAPHA*** Your ayurvedic body type (dosha) is KAPHA, composed of the elements Earth and Water. Kaphas tend to be people of heavy or solid build who gain weight easily. They have cool, moist, but not oily, skin, and thick wavy hair. Kaphas have great endurance, steady temperaments, and a tendency to inertia, both emotional and physical. When stressed, Kaphas avoid the stressor and cling to the familiar. Congestion, water retention, weight gain, diabetes, and headache are common Kapha ailments. Kaphas do best when they are kept active and prevented from settling into a rut. To keep your dosha in balance, keep active. Keep your consumption of fat and sweets to a minimum, and go easy on the iced drinks and the bread, though complex carbohydrates are fine in moderation. Emphasize pungent, bitter, and astringent tastes in your food, and have as much as you like of fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices. Get as much excitement, challenge, and change in your life as you can. If you really want to be miserable: Take a nap after every meal. Avoid invigorating environments. Overeat, especially fatty and sweet food. Deny your creative self. Become a couch potato. Assume someone else will do it. Avoid conflict at all costs.
