Thursday night I napped from about 6 to 9ish. I went out for a walk and ended up in the LAN room reading LJ. (Addict! I know...) Back in our room I got to have a real chat with [livejournal.com profile] javagoth, whom [livejournal.com profile] jw1776 had lured back with promises of chocolate and booze.

I actually got up friday - and saturday, and sunday - morning at 9am, which was a first for me at con. Usually I'm up late enough that I oversleep at least one morning. But...

Friday morning I went to a panel on 'beating mid-book blues'. Main takeaway: have a plan and follow it. Simple, yes, but I got some good notes on work methods.

Had a banana, a croissant & a mocha for breakfast. Chatted a bit with [livejournal.com profile] rubylou, and coordinated with [livejournal.com profile] runnerwolf and [livejournal.com profile] sar_anon who dropped off the not-worn-out walking shoes I'd forgotten. (Real friends make drop-offs on the way to the airport ;) Lunch with [livejournal.com profile] jw1776 and [livejournal.com profile] javagoth, then more panels. I ended up going to several religion panels and enjoying them immensely. One was on how faith will be changed by space flight; another on what faith will be like in the future. I also met up with Mir, helped consecrate the St Chiros Chapter House for the con, and met [livejournal.com profile] greenwood.

Friday night was Heather's performance: Blue Heron / Cranky Crawdads / Mittens On The Moon, Festival Wind, Happenin' Frog, March of Cambreadth, Frog of Cambreadth, Golden Ring, Pirate Bill & Squidley. We chatted with Heather briefly afterwards, then listened to some of A Little Knight Music before I headed upstairs. Dinner was womb room service.

Saturday [livejournal.com profile] jw1776 and I had a leisurely brunch. I think it was Saturday that I got another pair of earrings and a dolphin puzzle ring from Angelwear.

I also know I went to yet more religion panels - using and interpreting religious symbols in art, when to come out of the broom closet, and when it's appropriate to adopt other's beliefs, symbols, gods, goddesses, or practices into one's own. Mir got quite a laugh at the last when she introduced herself as Cherokee "and no, my grandmother *was not* a princess!" (Of course, my mother claims *her* stepgrandmother was a Cherokee Princess ... sigh. Maybe she was. *I* wouldn't know.)

The last panel I went to on Saturday was fantastic - humor! Some examples:
Pagan / Christian football
Lesser banishing ritual of the casserole
Let me introduce myself

Mir and I ended up talking for a few hours or so afterword, with various interruptions. Hanging out in the St Chiros' room is nicely surreal. People stop by for food or hugs; random people ask what St Chiros is; one person was looking for a definition of religion that would include Christianity, definitely would *not* include astrology, and (he preferred) not include Scientology. Interesting.

Sunday morning I got up, packed, mass (St Chiros - I wrote that up in [livejournal.com profile] dailyoffice) and we came home to a not very happy (but perfectly safe and sound) [livejournal.com profile] canacat.
