From a rant [livejournal.com profile] computerchix linked to:
"I take responsibility for the EXECUTION of my actions, but I take no responsibility for the EFFECT or RESULTS my actions may have on you or others." And there you have it folks, Personal Responsibility Lite (tm). Tastes Great, less filling! All of the lip service, none of the work! Any expectation of true acceptance of responsibility will have them parading themselves around as "victims" of your unreasonable expectations.

You won't ever let that OTHER cat into [your] home, will you?

[livejournal.com profile] jw1776 & I are still figuring that out.

Do you still have as much enthusiasm for a Bruce concert as you did when you first went to see him?

When I first went to see him, I *thought* I was a mad fan. Afterwards, I *knew* I'd only thought I was a mad fan. The second time I was more excited; I bid on front-row tickets in a charity auction, flew to NJ, and so on (story is here). The third time I was enthusiastic enough to fly to CA. And so on.

Now, I'm more enthusiastic than I was the first time, because I know more of what to expect. The thirst has been slated somewhat - I'm not madly flying around the country as much - but I'm still, um, slightly nuts according to some. (Portland OR, Tacoma WA, Vancouver BC, and each concert costs at least $100US...)

News item, Eastside Journal:
REDMOND -- Last year, a select group of girls at Redmond High School would gather together during the day, go into the bathroom and vomit.

What the girls were doing was fairly well-known, but most people kept quiet about it.

``The administration was aware of it, the students knew it, parents knew about it, but nothing was done,'' said Jaynee Cadrez, a counselor who works at the school through a contract with Youth Eastside Services.

Parents were contacted, Cadrez said, but they ignored the warnings. ``They said, `Too bad, our daughter gets straight A's, she's a cheerleader. It's not a concern.'''

I think I was almost asleep when the alarm went off. Either that, or I was dreaming that I was almost asleep. Either way, we were dressed, fed, and out the door by 6:30. Took [livejournal.com profile] royha to the airport, then stopped by Krispy Kreme ([livejournal.com profile] jw1776's idea) and got home about 9.

Jesse headed upstairs for a nap. I did some photoshop, email, LJ, wrote, continued the ongoing battle to reduce my desktop's intermittant hangs *without* installing a unix variant, and wrote some more. Stretched my legs a bit, then organized some of the piles in my office and fixed dinner. Watched last week's Buffy, which was better than I'd hoped - well, if you don't count wincing at Kennedy's DI impersonation and Buffy nutting out over Chloe. And, well, what if she hadn't fought back?

Oh well. Got the tape setup for tomorrow, played a bit of Sims, and now I'm reading some comics before bed.
