cognitive-behavioral therapy
Sep. 8th, 2004 04:34 pmThe local paper had an article on cognitive-behavioral therapy today and how it works. Thought it might be useful to anyone who's considering treatment for depression or who is curious about different types of therapy.
Disclaimer: I do not regard talk therapy as automatically better or worse than pill therapy. According to the research I've read, there is currently no therapy for depression that works on 100% of people 100% of the time. Combining talk and pill therapy is usually more successful than either alone for *most* people.

Sep. 8th, 2004 11:48 pm- I'm loved.
- Got my copy of Lammas Night signed. Katherine Kurtz seemed happy to chat about the book and her plans to include some of the characters from it in the next Adept book.
- Had a good week totally away from the office.
- I think I achieved some distance; I know I feel more at peace about things.
- Was able to let go of some things that I don't need to keep carrying.
- Turquoise glass dragonfly from the art show.
- Cool earrings and other shinies.
- Unwinding.
- Growing friendships.
- Talked with Dad today and it went okay.
