New Prius is a kick. It has an actual power button & an electronic key to 'unlock' the car. Want to put it in park? Another button. The touchscreen seems a bit bigger on this one, and includes the climate controls as well as audio & the energy usage displays.

I could have lived my life quite happily without a UTI. Hopefully this will be my last one. I discovered that Mom was right about 'something acidic' relieving certain symptoms. My variation was drinking vinegar. Why? I didn't have the patience to go to the store for cranberry juice.

Today I was much better than last night, but still, I didn't want to wait til tomorrow to see my doctor, so I paid a visit to Woodinville Urgent Care. Nice people. I did have the usual "um..." when the doctor asked if I could be pregnant. Well, yes, I suppose I could, but the chances are damn small.

Ever been told you're too literal for your own good? Me too.

All in all, most of the symptoms seem to be in remission right now. My lower back on either side (about where my kidneys are, yes indeed) is still aching, and I feel somewhat run-down. Which, given that it's an infection, makes sense.

I think I'm going to bed soon. But first....

Before Urgent Care, Jesse & I had dim sum with [livejournal.com profile] sar_anon & [livejournal.com profile] runnerwolf this morning. It was good to catch up a bit in a relaxed fashion. I also finished the game of Tropico I'd started on, um, Monday or so.

Spent most of Saturday hanging out and running around with [livejournal.com profile] cyberangel_. One highlight was dropping the Alison Bechdel original off to be framed. Red metal frame, gray mat. Yay me. Another was eating Copper River salmon at Cafe Fresco. Yum-mm.

Tonight's Integrity service got picketed by 6 people ([livejournal.com profile] greenwood counted). The counterprotesters outnumbered the protesters, big surprise. One thing I've noticed about Fred Phelps - his group tends to be big on how anal sex is icky. I doubt it's occurred to him that heterosexual couples can and do choose to practice anal sex too.

I was glad I got to see [livejournal.com profile] greenwood, and that I was at the service. Both the bread & wine usually used at St Mark's have sulfites, which trigger her asthma something fierce. In discussing things with the priest and Sue (altar guild & Integrity coordinator) we came up with scheme that will probably work at the Integrity service since it doesn't have 100s of people. Basically, get there early, ask Sue to put a wafer on the tray to be consecrated too, and tell the priest who it's for. Then sit up front so's to be right next to Sue and get the wafer (before someone else has it by mistake).

I also encouraged her to take part in passing the bread-and-wine around the circle, even if she isn't receiving herself.

Also, the priest and Sue came up with one of the Reserved Sacraments (they use the Wednesday noon wafers for Reserved because they keep better than pita bread) for [livejournal.com profile] greenwood.

This weekend went much better than last weekend. I did make sure I got up relatively early (9am yesterday, 8am today) and ate something. I was careful to eat at fairly regular intervals throughout the day too. I even got my laundry done & paid bills. Go me!
