I just read tomorrow's For Better Or For Worse. Michael and Deanna are talking, and Michael calls his old landlady Mrs. Dingle.
Cut to Mrs. Dingle lying unconscious on the floor, phone ringing, cat meowing.
This hits me on a couple levels. The main one is my grandmother's death: she fell, between Christmas and New Year's, and broke her hip. Three days later a neighbor wondered why she hadn't seen Mrs Davis lately. Grandma died shortly after that.
The thought had crossed my mind that Christmas that I could go visit her on the 27th or 28th. I'd never done it on my own, I was nervous, and I didn't. Yes, that trip would have put me there the day she fell or the day after. It took me a long time to get over the guilt of not having been there.
So yes, that panel scares me. And I don't know what's coming next but I want to know and ... damnit.
