jenkI finally installed the Pets expansion pack for Sims 2. It didn't run. The GPF message ~ you know, a "Windows has detected an error in this program and it must close" type thing. I thought the Sims 2 disk I had mounted (virtual disk via Daemon Tools) might be it so I unloaded it and... same problem.
My tolerance for fighting with it was at low ebb, so I uninstalled it and Sims 2 runs fine now ... ok, yes, it deleted all my saved games, but it had told to backup my games if I might want to uninstall Pets since Pets games wouldn't run under plain Sims 2 (although I have to wonder if it actually booted enough of Sims 2 to screw up my old games, but never mind, hell, it could've done the conversion during setup for all I know.) Right now most of the Broke family is sleeping while the toddler yucks it up with Wobbly Wabbit.
I may try again Pets again when I have more patience. In the meantime, I'm going to go take a bath and climb into bed.
