Jerry Falwell was a controversial figure. Right.

Westboro Baptist announced they would picket Falwell's funeral. They like being in the news, so that makes sense. Sort of.

Now a student at Falwell's university has been busted for making BOMBS to use against the protesters.

The devices were made of a combination of gasoline and detergent, a law enforcement official told ABC News' Pierre Thomas. They were "slow burn," according to the official, and would not have been very destructive.

I'm not sure which is more telling about the education this particular student has received (and/or his general level of smarts):

1. That he made the "devices".
   
2. That he had them in his car - presumably at the funeral.
   
3. That they "would not have been very destructive".
