Impossible pie existed before Bisquick, but like pancakes, it can be made with Bisquick. It's a way of making a custard-based pie that makes its own crust instead of making piecrust separately.
The reason for trying cupcakes is that I'm thinking of make-ahead breakfasts that are easy to eat (such as: heat in microwave from freezer or cold from fridge).
Today's inputs were:
Batter as in recipe.
Filling (or additions) of bacon bits, chopped spinach, green onions, and shredded cheddar.
Pros of today's results:
Crust formed
Overall tasty with bacon and cheddar as high notes.
Cons of today's results:
I felt I was running out of the batter during assembly.
I may have had too little of the additions; spinach and green onions didn't affect overall taste.
Cupcakes seemed a bit scorched on the bottom.
Ideas for another time:
Increase batter by 50%.
If continuing with bacon and spinach, more spinach and dehydrated onion instead of green onions.
Rework addition to have less cheese relative to other additions.
Bake 20 or 22 minutes before checking instead of 25.
